So we currently use KeepTruckin. Personally I like the eld. But I called to get 5 more gateways for new drivers coming onboard. They told me it's a 5 week wait time. And if I provide the drivers with proof of purchase, DOT is OK with that. Sounds fishy. So I'm looking to switch. Bigroad and garmin have caught my eye. They both have bad reviews. Buy all eld's seem to have bad reviews. I'm assuming cause everyone hates elds and wish we were back on logbooks. So I figured I'd come here and see what yall opinions are. KT cost were $150 for each unit and $40 per month per driver

I use KeepTruckin as well. Going to need a new unit after first of the year. Guess I might want to order one if they are 5 plus weeks out.

But you should plan ahead and order it earlier... :)
Actually I'm a bit surprised the ELD is a bigger hold up than the truck.

Also, make them show you the policy to allow one to use paper log with an eld receipt. There is no regulation for that.....

My employer uses Big Road. I was apprehensive at first, because it is smart phone based. But actually have grown to almost like it, for me that’s something.

I use Blue Ink Tech. Great people and easy to use. Their tech dept is a little slow but a great excuse to use paper. One time fee for equipment then I believe just a once year fee for service. Can use off of phone or tablet. Had mine in 2 days and that was back in July.

I hope the security is real tight at the remaining chip manufacturers because if a terror group struck a couple of those facilities we would be soooooooooo ####ed.

I'm right there with you. Trying to buy an eld and KeepTruckn says proof of purchase is all I need. They do not understand the eld law and DOT quota systems. I did find out, prior to 2020 old KT devices were reusable between carriers. You could buy a used one and add it to the account. but "idiots" who run sales turned that feature off. Now, every truck has to receive a new device from them. That's when they ran out of devices and couldn't get any more. Chip shortage is a strawman smoke screen...

I narrowed choices down to BigRoad and j.j. Keller options. I'm not familiar with either as I've used GPSTab, keep truckn, and Omnitracs. Seems like most everybody is on backorder these days and I'm left with what's available.

Any one can chime in on Bigroad reliability and IFTA features?
