OK, I have a chance to type on a real computer instead of my blackberry. I had my first sole run from Dalton, Ga to Taylor, MI everything went well. When I finally got my truck from the shop there was like 10 QC messages telling me where to go and fuel routing etc.. I probably stunk up the QC air ways pretty bad with trying to reply to all the messages. I'm still getting used to it but it won't be long before I'm comfortable.
Anyways, I hook to the trailer double and triple checked everything before leaving. Mind you I was nervous to start with let alone not having a local map of Dalton just a Road Atlas so off I went trying to find my way to MI with just the QC directions. I did OK and made it there 6 hours prior to delivery time. I bought a GPS today so hopefully future runs to locals unknown will be less unknown. -
Good job Mike...I've learned recently that local streets can be he..ck. We are in Vancouver, BC for the New Years, and the downtown area where we are staying it, lets say, challenging to say the least. Not to mention I'm driving in a different country....and my very old GPS, which I bought from a friend for $50 last year does not include Canada. The minute we crossed the border, it went blank. I had neglected to print out my route directions from Google, so I was reliant on my iPhone to guide me the 20 some-odd miles into downtown Vancouver. Having a nice time though, and I've seen what long drives are like now....

They won't waste the time training you, unless they intend to hire you.
However, YOU are the one that determines whether they hire you. They'll do their very best to get you trained. How well you absorb it, and apply it...is all you.
Short answer to your question is a resounding NO. Nobody guarantees placement. Because they don't know how many thousands of dollars in damage you'll do before day 10 or 30.
Stay clean, pay attention, learn everything they offer, and you'll have a good job with a good company. -

So, I have a question for the current WS drivers...which truck stop brand does the company use for fueling? I've just returned from 3 1/2 days driving and stopped at all the big names and it make me wonder.....
