AD356 may have retreated to his "safespace"??
williefistergash Thanks this. -
Being over sensitive will test your sensitivity level in this forum. Best to laugh it off and say..... "Thanks, I thought it was Cummings" No harm, no foul. I have heard it pronounced CUMMINGS more often than CUMMINS by a long shot. It is ok...... you can retreat from the safespace now........ I sure hope the OP is under 35.

Why cant the thing operate like a car? Put it in reverse and let your foot off the brake. Truck would move until you apply brake, would move when you release the brake.
I drove once with an allison in a dump truck, triaxle. It acted like a oversized car. Much smoother. That's because it has a torque converter and clutch packs with bands. It is an oversized fluid driven unit. However, I dont think they are spec'd heavy enough for milk. An autoshift is an AMT. Automated manual transmission. Steel gears and a dry clutch.
I find they arent great for
Backing
Steep and varying grades
Hooking up heavily loaded trailers in the snow, especially if the trailer is sitting low and you need to lift the trailer up with the 5th wheel
Hauling milk is a fluid product and these things dont work great doing farm pickup.
I prefer to grab gears anyways.meechyaboy, Speed_Drums and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
