I hope he doesn't have to back out when the break is over, I don't think he has room.

    Not a funny but amusing…
Tuscaloosa, AL, 1956, two of us, max overload of tarped bale cotton. Went into Northport, AL, on US82, whacked the tight right and dropped out to the then only bridge crossing into Tuscaloosa. Kelly in front in a 22 White, me following in a L185 IH. Cross the bridge and hit the almost straight up into Tuscaloosa.

Lets say it is 500 feet up, then a 50 foot level for the RR crossing, then another 100 feet up to level and on to US 11 intersection. As an aside, logic says turn left on US11 and truck on north to B/ham. Logic does not prevail in truck route routing. Here, you went straight on for several blocks, then turn left to drag thru a business, then residential district, then to a fairly good pull to join up with US 11 N. This reconnection was right in front of Druid City Hospital and the prior 3 blocks were replete with QUIET ZONE-Hospital signs. And them old Whites could bellow…

But, cross the bridge and hit the pull. 2nd gear on the old 5 speeds. Creeping. Then Kelly just stops dead still… I am tagging enough to slither by and keep on. Climb to top and wait for him. Sit… Wait…. Then he begins to back down. 2 AM and only us. He rewinds and begins coming up. Pulls up behind me and I ask him why he stopped. Comes on loud and vehement about did I not see “That bulldog in the Straw hat Hitch Hiking”? I told him no, I was too busy clearing his stopped ###. He further expressed his being puzzled by the straw hat at night, as why he stopped. So we kicked the tires, made the truck route and trucked onward.

By this time, you should have deduced, Kelly took the little white pills, Keep you awake, but strange sight to behold. I can count on the fingers of one hand, the number of pills I took 50 to 58.

Would like to watch a good video of the recovery. Also the total billing, recovery, cargo damage, t and t repairs or total outs of each,
    Will be an expensive wreck.

Was not the "soft place to land" the old hands told me to always look for when I started.
