New to trucking, just purchased my first truck, advice please?

I agree sell the truck or lease onto a company that will help you be successful. Sounds like your sister is not helping you out. There are many companies out here that pay 80% and keep 20% sounds to me you would be better off in that situation. But first and foremost get a driver who wants to work.

You already know what you should be doing

Iget a dealer to run the sale, sign power of atterney so they can finalise sale , tell em what you need paid on the note, anything higher is their commission

 

This is an option I didn't think of. Could be the sister is paying a fair cut, but the driver isn't making delivery in a timely matter.
Yep need to talk with your sister and find out which problem applies.
25% pay for logistics is fair. As always depends who pays what.

What kind of truck is it? What is the monthly payments? You could always have someone take over the payments or try to sell it out right. Can you make a lump sum payment to pay it off or are you locked in where you have to make the payments?

 

How much are you paying the driver? How many miles has the truck ran in the last 2 months?

 

If your sister is not willing to respond. Cancel your contract with her. Your truck sitting is better than running the wheels off and losing money.

Easy to sell your truck. With or without a lien. Find a buyer. Get the money in two portions. One payment to lien holder, remaining amount to you. Be watchful for the scams.

Or take it to a dealer and let them handle the sale. The dealer will take a cut.

There are a lot of companies out here that you could attach your truck to and start making money. I believe mag carriers will pay 90% and keep10%. Carolina I think is 80/20 maybe the wider group is to. Not sure where your location but honestly if you have a driver that drives there is no reason at all for you not to make money.

 

Is your sister doing any better than you are?
