That's the thing. I can get a house that's 2x the size and nicer on alot more usable land for the same price I'm in this for. Plus a decent freight market alot closer to home. I leave home for 2 weeks to run around the Midwest. Plus all the fuel I use going back and forth between wind, mountains and expensive fuel. Makes more sense just to run around there......and all jokes aside....I would prolly put a covered wagon kit on this trailer.

On the weight thing here’s a little perspective for you on a Western Star. My 2018 5700xe is a 265” wheelbase, 13,200 front and 40k rears. Four stainless fenders over the drives and a Herd bumper. No headache rack, keep everything on the trailer. 300 gallons of fuel and me and all the crap I hoard weigh 23,000. Stars are not light, but it is one dam solid truck.

More work than I can handle. Most of the time. Volvo still won't fit in. I'm 280 miles east of Chicago. We are classy rednecks around here. I have burgundy fenders on a white FL.

Now you wanna run the container port in Columbus, or North Baltimore by me. You just need a nasty dirty truck to fit in. Volvo or Columbia.

I haven't left the tri state area since 2012/13

Every one I'm looking at is the small flattop. I think 48"? Plus the smaller tanks. I really want something solid that doesn't weigh a ton.....and if I'm going new(er) I want the Detroit. I've never owned a star, but always heard good things about them.

Edit: the one I'm seriously looking at is a 2016 4900 with 315k on the clock. Small flattop with small tanks and 244" wb and setback axle. Dd15 with 10 speed that will immediately be changed to an 18. I think 3.42 gears.

Re-edit: gonna call them tomorrow to see if they know the weight.....which I'm sure they dont....lol.
