I lasted 2 years in a IH dealerships for very similar reasons. It was in and out. Fix it later if it comes back. Not for me.

The idiots are wearing on me lately. Had a customer show up the other day to load a piece of equipment. Shows up with a half ton. With the dimensions of the unit to be loaded combined with a super short truck box, most of the weight would have been aft of the axle. Did I mention this piece weighed about 2x the rated payload capacity of the truck? I refused to load it. Maybe I'm the prick for saying no I won't load it? I don't know. Felt like it was the right thing to do.

I think the best part was him trying to convince me it was rated for it. Bud, you're literally parked right next to MY truck in the parking lot. Same model and similar year. I know you're trying to BS me.

Sounds like southwest BC got hammered by floods and slides last week. This is the Trans Canada highway: image.png highway-1-abbotsford-flooded.jpg

Everybody jumps on the old "climate change" bandwagon. I recently found out that the region was actually a lake at one time until they built dikes and redirected the water.

Vancouver has a gas shortage and are rationing fuel max 30L per day. Store shelves up in the interior are starting to empty now. Lots of washouts on the Coq, slides, missing bridges etc.

Very sad what is going on in BC. It's going to hurt for a long time.. People have shortish memories tho. Attached pic is the 1990 flood vs 2 days ago. Anytime man tries to rule mother nature this kind of stuff can happen.

The 13 years I was a wrench for a Gm dealer in the mine was the pinnacle of my career. Killer $, I was the boss of me and 2 customers. GM and the mine. When that ended I was back in the dealer. There it was a more you know, the less you make scenario. I always had 6 jobs behind me, half were from others screw ups, the other half was crap they were not capable of fixin. I mainly did transmissions. When the 8 and 10spd autos came out I decided that was enough for me. 27 years total at the dealer.
I've had some heath issues last 10 years or so. Was an eye opener. I got my class 1 license and drove a car hauler for 7 or so years. But buying the bus company was all about giving me and the wife an income that wasn't 100% on me, and still worked with our family. I kick the bucket, life will not be a total struggle for her and the kids.
I still do repair work, and I'm an inspector for another mid size bus company. But i pick and choose.
I'm assembling an engine right now. Building a nice 350 for my son. Replacing his 400 000km tired 305 in his 92 pickup tonight and tomorrow.
    Life is good.

I bet the Coq will take a year or 2 to fix. Looks like the bridges are completely gone at Othello. Seen some aerial footage of the highway south of Spence's Bridge and its washed out pretty badly too. Rail line is washed out too.

Few folks I know up in the Interior have said the panic buying has started. Not much left on the store shelves.

Panic buying is here too. Stock is getting thin. We are ready to hunker down and ride er out.
The rail lines down is going to affect the entire country. I cross the CN mainline 6 times a day and have not waited for a train all week. Definitely not good.
