God's not going to bring them to small claims court. You do that.

There are a bunch of rules a tow truck company must follow set up by each county.

You should contact the Harris county sheriff's office (if that is the county this tow truck company operates out of) and let them know what happened.

 

This was the same game thats played by regular tow truck operators in H-town. The city has what they call safe lanes or something of that nature. Where if your blocking a lane. Or on the side of a hwy. The tow operator could hook up and tow you to the next exit just to get you off the hwy to a safe place.

Then the tow operator would tell the car owner hey thats $500. The car owner would be like what, I don't have $500. Then the tow operator would say then I have to impound your car until you can pay. Witch of course they would add on daily storage fees.

A buddy of mine did tow work part time. But quit after he found out how the screw ppl over, mainly women. When he explained there game to me I said thats illegal. But I guess ppl wouldn't have the money to do anything about it.

But the city did away with the safe lane rule in 2019 I beleave. So I guess tow companies had to figure out how to still get money out of ppl.

I overheated on I-10 bout 4 yrs ago. And had enough momentum to make it to the shoulder. Bout 15 mins goes by and a vulture (H-town tow operator) shows up. Being that I already had my windows down. He comes up with the city ordnance and claimed I was in the road. Then he returned to his truck and blocked off the right lane that I wasn't even in.

He was trying to get a HPD to come up so that he could run that tow b/s on me. But the engine had cooled enough for me to crank up and leave. I go to the next exit an turns out my radiator fans stopped working. So I crippled my truck home.

That friend that did towing part time said that tow companies in H-town have to pay high fees to operate. Thats why they screw ppl over so much there. Hell I even called up a place one to get a car towed to a shop 6 blocks away from the house. And they wanted $300.

So I could definitely see a big rig towing company in H-town doing they same type of things to a truck driver. Having a break down on the hwy in Houston is the worst thing. Because even if you call your insurance company to send a truck. Or if you know a tow driver and call them.
Once one of the law agencies shop up on the scene. They tell the first available tow truck to hook up to get you off the hwy.

The tow racket that I've seen in Houston is worst than anywhere that I've ever been. Tow operators strait up steal ppls cars then hold them for ransom and its legal.

 

Any time you tow a truck from the front the axles need to be removed. If you don't, you dry spin parts of the transmission.

 

Undo the rear part of the main driveshaft, tie up to frame with scrap of rope, strap, whatever you have. Quick, easy, and what I did last year, when I towed out a logging truck from Masa logging that broke down. A tow truck met us at the hwy, and towed him the short way into the city, i towed him the 140 kms of logging road, behind my loaded logging truck, on the end of a strap. I drove 60 kms/hr, instead of my usual 90.
