I have a stock n14 red top celect plus 500 hp and 1650 torque. 9 speed 390 rears.

can i upgrade via ecm tune to 625hp and 1850 torque without changing any parts?

diesel doc in effingham il told me not to worry because the cpl# allows it.

I believe my cpl number is 239?

    I appreciate your answer

Or should i tune to 525hp and 1850 torque?

500hp is a lot but i believe because of the 390 rears and 9 speed i do not feel it that much.

    any suggestions?

i don't think there was a 625 1850 factory tune available for the n14 do you could probably get there with a non factory tune. i think 525hp 1850tq was the high end for the n14 do you have a 1850tq transmission/clutch?

525/1850 is the highest factory tune. Anything above that would be aftermarket.
Your clutch and tranny should be fine for 1850tq, but at 2050 I think you will start getting issues.
Even after getting the 1850 be ready for at least new turbo, because your old one won't last long, unless it was recently changed

What about the 650 hp aftermarket, best to avoid with my set up?

I personally would until you are sure about durability of all your components. Even then, who knows what's in that tune

Absolutely do not go over 525/1850 tune unless you have spare blocks.. look up n14 block fretting. Majority of high hp tunes the blocks will crack .

Don't lug it and it'll hold up just fine. Plenty of high hp big cams running 600+ and if you don't have the NASCAR attitude it will be just fine. They have a stronger bottom end than the big cams

I wouldn’t go 200ft pounds over the clutch rating. The transmission might hold up, but the clutch won’t. My truck was originally 1550 torque.. I had it bumped up to 1750.. My clutch is good for 1850 tho..
