I don't care what im hauling, I always put my locks on both doors....It will keep most thieves honest and have them move on to an easier target. Even if I have a scrap paper load on I don't want the hassle of having a broken seal when I get to the consigne. Years ago I bought some cheap padlocks and one night at a flying J in Ga. those locks were cut, ever since then I buy high dollar locks that a pair of bolt cutters couldn't even put a scratch on. Besides my air hose, one of the best investments I have ever made.

I had a High dollar load a few months ago and they sent a Car with Guards to follow my Truck with a Tracker in the back. They complained when I didn't stop for breaks and such. Drove the load 10 hours Straight before delivering, Then used the Bathroom. I told them, Next time you follow me, Eat cheese and pop a couple of Salt Tabs. LOL. That load was sure Locked!

I thought it was business to padlock a load...some companies even provode(you buy) one from what i've read..When i hit tha road...i'll have 2 master locks on just cause..

I had a lock in my last truck. Haven't gotten around to buying a new one yet. I learend my lesson though, never drive with the lock on. You can't open a moving truck and road salt DESTROYS padlocks. Had to have it cut off at a consignee. Next time I bother getting a lock, I'm only putting it on when I stop.
But in 3 months I haven't really stopped long enough to need one. I either park against walls, run the entire run end to end w/out stopping (shorthauls) or the stuff on board isn't worth locking.
Yes I know people can vandalize those 4 ton paper rolls, but they sure as hell can't steal them. -
Did a couple of high value loads with a trainer out of Texas going to New Jersey. Instructed to lock trailer doors and only stop for fuel or to switch drivers preferably when getting fuel. Anything beyond that and they were calling wanting to know why you were sitting.

If your are not running Abus Granit 37/70 you do not have
a "LOCK" on your load. -
I pulled up to the guard on the way out on a high-value load. The guard checked the seal against the paperwork...said all is well....
I said that is nice...except the seal is on the left door....She went crazy after that... told me I cannot move till security comes out and checks the load...

Heck, I never lock my load. And I haul high dollar product all the time. But it's kinda hard to bust into a gas tanker when the farthest I drive is 65 miles from the rack and only stop for red lights, train tracks and stop signs.
