    I run heavy lugs, try to nurse them along to half way, i get new truck tires, as mentioned truck tires go to trailer, plus whatever else I find around the shop that looks good, as my truck is a tandem, trailers all have 3, 4, or 5 axles.
    My steer tires are a different size, i run them down to about 10% or 20% left, depending on summer or winter, and put new ones on.
    When they get run down to about 15% or so on my trailers, if the carcass is still really good, they go to kal tire and get capped, in a more moderate tread, and find a spot on other trailers, or on hwy based trucks that don't see a lot of offroad. Our fuel trailers, and a belly dump all need rubber, so soon they will be getting caps I have been saving up in piles, and a tarp over them. I told everyone to keep their hands off my new caps, i have plans for them. They have gone through almost all new tires i had from the last batch of tires I ordered, and most of the okay take offs I had laying around. Saw my brother in law recently stole the tires I had taken off Sam's truck. ;) He said they looked pretty good, so didn't ask me for new tires for his trailer, he just took them. I busted his balls jokingly for stealing the tires I had plans for. Actually I don't mind, he is pretty resourceful, and a good man. But my new caps, if he touches them I'll have to break a couple fingers. We were selling the Super B fuel trailers, till i landed a lucrative new contract a few days ago, so now it will get 20 new caps, and I found a qualified O/O to pull them for me, as we have a lack of trucks, for the work I got lined up. Starting in January, 4 owner ops will pull for me full time, and I will be hiring a new driver as well. Got a great mechanic I've known for 20 years, to come work for me part time. He will be working Saturdays and Sundays. I've been busy as of late, just not driving. Made deals to buy another used set of fuel trailers, and another used logging trailer.
    I was building a 12 by 16 office building, realized it needs to be larger, so putting up a 24 by 24. My big sister got canned last month from her job as a nurse, she will be coming to work for me Momday to Friday, 9am till 2 pm in the office, running errands, and such.
    But back to tires, we go through a lot of tires, and tire type depends on where the trucks and trailers spend their time. Me, I'll run the hwy when needed, but I'm happier in the bush, and I love loggers. Those people are real, they say what's on their mind, they spit, swear, and make no apologies for not being politically correct. They maybe a little rough around the edges, but the men are men, and the women are tough, self confident, and very amazing. They don't judge millenials for not being 60, they don't give a crap how you dress, but you better work hard, and if your truck slides around on the roads 30 times a day, you as a driver best not even flinch. Its a lifestyle few choose, and we aren't normal. We run aggresive tires, carry a lot of aggressive chains, we get filthy daily, our trucks sit high off the ground, they lack chrome, mud covers them, we pound them ruthlessly on bad roads, we climb hills that only billy goats should be on, we are different. I'm willing to bet many people hate us, and frankly we don't care. When something breaks in the bush, we Macgyver it to get us back to civilization. I have stopped at a creek the road follows down a mountain 4 times in one trip, jumped out with my axe, chopped holes in the ice to get water to top off my cooling system, which I was running with no rad cap so it would not build pressure, with my fan turned on always, then had a bucket of water on the passenger floor of my truck sloshing and spilling. Dumped that in halfway through the hwy section of my drive. Got to the mill, unloaded, used their water to top off, and made a dash to a rad shop, and said fix it good enough to last me till Saturday, I already ordered a new rad, but its not in till Saturday. They patched my rad up, and I drove extra hard to get back to the show for another load, to make the mill before the scales closed. Got to the mill with 5 minutes to spare, my trailer was bouncing off snow piles on both sides of the road around corners, but i made it. Yes I carry an axe always, yes I am a millenial, and proud to be one, no I don't feel the need to always wear jeans to be able to drive a truck, yes I can shift an 18 speed despite being a woman. I've already read on this forum all that a few think is wrong with me, all women, and my generation. How millennials suck, women need an automatic, and that if you don't wear jeans you're a terrible driver. Well i make no apologies for breaking all of those stereotypes.
    You guys in this thread, I want to thank all of you for welcoming me openly despite my age, sex, and attire.
    If any of you find yourself in PG BC let me know. Lets toss a steak on the grill, and share some laughs.

    Honestly, probably not.
    Here in the most climate friendly part of North America, Union or non doesn't matter......they all suck, you will wait, and they will probably fix it at $170 an hour.
    So, go have a seat.
