It's been ages since I've been on here. I've been working 14-17 hours a day, no days off harvest in Texas. I just got married, moved to Denver and am so frustrated looking over all these companies. It's sooooooooooooooooooo different being in a city, looking for a job driving, vs. being able to walk up and get any job in Texas hauling agriculture. I'm thinking of signing on with a company here. Just dont know which one and have heard bad about so many. I already have my CDL, 5 years driving everything from tractor trailers, cotton module trucks and a couple of tankers. Any help out there, advice? Sure would be appreciated.

You need to talk to some of your former company's, especially ones in the last 3 years.
I am guessing that most of your driving has been in state or within just a few states of home.
If this is the case the OTR company's will not count any of that as experience, I had this happen myself. I have had my Class A CDL for almost 19 years. I have driven about 10 years of that time. The OTR company's count me as having just over 3 years experience.
Many of the local company's will consider that to be experience though. So you could talk to local food and beverage delivery company's and others.Attitude:) Thanks this. -

Wow, great ideas. I have Trimacs site open from yesterday and am planning to call them. The oil patch sounds good also.
I guess I didnt realize either that OTR only counts 3 years of driving. That bites. I'll all the companies everyones listed today and let you know what they say. It's a Monday lol thank you all! -
They look at all OTR experiance, but you have to normally have to have experiance in the last 3 years OTR, allot of them want 6 months+ experiance, and they want at least that much in the last year.
Also many companys will ask for a refresher if you have not driven OTR in the last 6 months.
They do not consider any driving that is local as experiance at all. If you drive local for 20 years, on the exact equipment you will use at the OTR company, they will look at that as having 0 experiance. -
How crazy is that? You still have to drive in crazy places and deal with tough sitations. It's just longer hours in ag work
