Hello folks. My usual run is from Vegas to Everett WA, but tomorrow I'm going to Clackamas (Portland basically) instead. So, my usual route to the Pacific Northwest is I-15, US 93, NV 138, NV 6, US 93, I-84, I-82, I-90, I-405. To Portland, the adjustment would be to take I-84 all the way, obviously. It would be a total of 1048 miles.
But I'm contemplating another route which I have never taken before, so the trucker in me is of course chomping at the bit to take it. It would be I-15, US 95, NV 376, NV 305, I-80, US 95, OR 78, US 20, US 97, US 26. The distance is 975 miles.
So, I am saving 73 miles. But is it worth it? Are there any surprises or things I should know? I've never cut through the center of Nevada nor been through SE Oregon. So, I am looking forward to that. Plus, I have some time to get there. I don't deliver until 0200 on Thursday.
So, my mind is pretty much set. But I would like to hear from some of you who are familiar with this route, or the areas where I'll be going through even.
Thank you. I'm looking forward to some feedback.

I live in Central Oregon and travel on the 20/97/26 on a regular basis. The 26 will be getting snow all week and another big system is coming In on Wednesday. I would stick to the other route save that scenic trip for spring or summer that route can turn to #### real quick and that 20 has very few turnouts from Burns to Bend only has a few places to stop and pull off and it’s all 2 lane hwy.

The way the weather is shaping up, think I’d run 93 to 318 at Ash Springs to 6 to 93 at Ely on up to 84 at Twin Falls and on across— course 84 has been shut down between Ontario and Pendleton 3 times in the last 4 days so it’s a crap shoot
