If you’re worried about the cat opening the windows when you’re away from the truck, maybe a battery kill switch?

I'll have to see if the shop can do this. Don't want to damage what isn't mine.

I doubt that a company shop will do this to one of their rigs. If you are not mechanically inclined I probably wouldn’t do it on a company truck. The switch is just cutting the power to the fuse when switched off, which can be done several different ways. It still would have the same size fuse powering the windows when power is give to it. Probably best to just put something like others mentioned such as cardboard over the switches to prevent opening.

Exactly. Two of these to replace the fuse, 1 inline fuse, a few feet of wire and a switch. Ten minutes to gear up and that includes drinking rum and cutting your thumb stripping the wire. A612DAB3-9B3B-49A9-8A05-2B912E219CE7.jpeg

It won’t matter if it’s yours or a company truck, nothing will be permanent.

I'd like to think I'm mechanically inclined. But then the dumpy results speak for themselves. At least I give things like that a crack.

My adoptive dad was always good with the mechanics. But too busy with his job to teach me anything. Now I just bungle it until I get it right. Or get fired for my lame attempts lol!!

Great answer. My dog did lock me out of the truck a few times, except for the key in

Where are the switches you are trying to protect?

what model truck are you driving?

I have a driver with a large Norwegian Forest Cat that weighs 19 pounds and who has opened the window a couple times while he was driving (and blocking the mirrors) and unlocking/locking the doors.

Before the yard mechanic put in a passenger window switch kill switch, the driver took a piece of thick cardboard, cut holes in it so it fit flat against the door arm rest and took two more pieces of thick cardboard cut to the same size. He then wrapped it with some painters tape (frog tape) and then wrapped the entire thing with painters tape, added a doubled up tape so it was sticky on the underside then cut out the holes to fit it over the switch’s. Fitting it to the door, he taped it to the door with the painters tape.

This stopped a 19 pound cat from stepping on and opening the windows.

I have cat. I use duct tape and plastic whiskers food containers.
