Hi guys ! I’m not try to blame anyone but myself, I’m little stress about training and just want to share my story and love to get some advice from you all .
I have been with the 1st trainer OTR for 3 weeks, and this trainer and me just like team driving, after my 11hrs , i go sleep and then he drive , when I’m drive he sleep or talk on the phone and max volume music (so I have no chance to ask him anything) or even when I sleep he still turn max volume music and smoking without rolling the window down , of course I can’t sleep like that , after few days I can’t deal with it anymore so I told him please low the volume down and roll the window down when he smoke , at week 3 I have an incident when I pull in truck stop while he sleeping, I’m not even complaining or said anything to the company, just accept it was my fault, but the company still send me out with another trainer, and said they know he teach me nothing from last 3 weeks.
2nd trainer is good but too good for me, he doesn’t sleep but he go New York City back and forth , and I have to drive to deal with it most of the time, when he teach me backing , I love to GOAL but he keep complaints I don’t trust him, just do what he told me to do then the trailer should be in the box, then I feel I’m just back the trailer for him not for me , and when I pull in truck stop I always slow down and scan my mirror, but he keep yell at me just go and trust him , don’t waste time I’m not going to hit anything ? Then I told him, yes I trust him , only when he sit next to me , but he can’t sit in the truck with me forever, so I have to learn how to scan mirror and check on my off track when I’m by myself and keep it habit, he always in the rush , go go go , push me to drive fast and even on my 30minutes break, after 20 minutes he star call me and tell me ready to go, I’m very stress to deal with pressures from him and New York City traffic , yesterday they told me I was done so I’m not bring anything to the yard , but the trainer still want me go with him another week , he push me to go home get my stuff and roll out at night, I go home and come back, his truck was need some repair, so we go with another truck, and 3 truck they give us ,all of them have a problem, we have to move all the personal stuff back and forth between that 3 truck , I told him I so done for the night and I can’t drive anymore after all this happened, I go home ,they can fire me tomorrow, I don’t care anymore so stress out with all this training , I feel like they just using me to make money , so let see what happens tomorrow? Sorry guys for my long story and bad English. Thank you

    Good for you walking away.
If you are too tired to keep driving, nobody should be pushing you. That is how accidents happen.

How much longer are you supposed to ride with a trainer?

Hey gang, any of you new people that have to ride with a trainer:

I know you guys are new to the industry. I know you are nervous. I understand that you are being bombarded with new experiences. That being said, you have to draw a line in the sand.

    First line = No Yelling.

Now OP struggles with English and the trainer is probably doing the fat American tourist thing and get obnoxiously loud as if that helps with the translation. Find a safe place to park, pull the brakes, put your phone on video record and set it down, look at your trainer in the eyes and WHISPER, “stop the yelling. I hear just fine.”
Either the trainer is going to lower his tone or he’s going to lose his ship. Be prepared to leave the truck, but notify your contact at your company. If you don’t have this contact info, shame on you because ALL companies give new drivers a contact person.

Hey Asian. You seem like a smart person. Keep being wise and don't let any of these numb nuts okie doke you directly into your demise. Id bet you will have a long and fruitful career after its all said and done if you keep your wits and properly learn at an appropriate pace

U seem to have a good grasp on things realizing strengths and weaknesses make for a good driver ur COMFORT ZONE as a student or rookie driver is pretty small and should be without experience confidence shouldn't be a concern ur modesty tells me u have come to terms with the fact training is necessary. Alot of trainers don't think about the students they train if u look at their safety and performance records more often than not someone who's pushing u is using students to help their pay look better and aren't considering the outcome that has on students u should be taught to be patient and safe first speed comes later with experience don't be reactive be proactive

1st, absolute proper grammar is not needed here. It's not "The Teachers Report", and 2nd, no need to qualify your nationality, the world is much more universal today. 3rd, I mean no disrespect, but you have to remember what field of work you are going into. It's not wine tasting or running a punch press. It's a stressful, lonely, unsatisfying( at times) and certainly not like any other job. Therefore, trucking attracts all the people that don't fit into "regular" society, and you'll encounter some real characters. People that don't necessarily know how to interact with other people, and you have to roll with it, at least until on your own. I don't think I've heard ONE trainer success story, they all seem to have their quirks, and all I can say, is welcome to trucking 101. If you are that passionate about truck driving, you simply will have to go through the hoops. I think people today want it as easy as can be, and when they run into resistance, they whine like a bad bearing. If you think "training" is tough, wait until you get on your own. Best of luck.

Sounds like 99% of trainer posts. Learn what you can, go solo, figure the rest out on your own. We all had to deal with it.
