I’m my opinion there’s no need to buy gps units anymore. There’s plenty of good apps that do a great job.

In my mind it’s one in the same. You still buy a “tablet” and it has “apps”. My RM 740 is a 7” tablet running a version of android OS and I have the GPS App open and running for my 11/14. And the higher end models are even more Android tablets than just a GPS.

I do have a couple Apple iPads in my truck and I use Apps on them too.

I just want one tablet dedicated to one task of routing me and helping me find truck related locations. I have Apps but hate jumping from App to App depending on what I’m looking for.

RM isn’t perfect and I’d love to see it improve in areas, and I’ve tried using just my iPad mini to replace it, but it is just setup in a way that fits my personal workflow.

Thinking you are using the high end for your numbers there. While possible, I don’t think the majority of folks out here but the upper end of either.

CoPilot I haven’t been real happy with. Will fool with it.
Hammer can come up with details you need that I haven’t found anywhere else.
I use two gps’s mainly right now.
    Garmin dezl770.
    Trucker Path.
Garmin can be goofy approaching destination. Trucker Path can be excellent on approach. Even showing the truck entrance.
I have to admit. Lately everything gets goofed up. I have to suspect they’re playing with the gps signal. If one goofy. Other isn’t. I look at both and decide what to do.
I’m running trucker path on an iPad.

Garmin can definitely be goofy but it’s the best so far. What blows my mind is sometimes it will have you blow by your exit only to take the next one, turn around and come back. It seems Like lots of the overpasses aren’t rated for the proper weight.

Is your Trucker Path provided by your company or did you get it for yourself?

@WesternPlains , does your Trucker Path show your route without those places like truck stops, rest areas, etc, etc? I mean, can one get rid of them all and see only the route? Or better yet, see only the low overpasses and the weight restricted locations?
