Man. All you guys living the good life drinking and I’m about to throw up from eating cookies so that it appears that Santa visited our house.

Thanks, I think that was a compliment. ;)

    No trolling.

Most forum members have been great.

The few who don't like me, well about 30ish people sent me a PM explaining why.

Baby Jesus all I want for Christmas is not to have to put these F chains on. Amen

Come over to the dark side (Northeast). We haven’t had squat yet. Well at least in PA. I think NY only had one good one so far. Not sure about farther up there cause I don’t go.

Your truck wouldn’t know how to act this far over and the OM would most likely claw your eyes out. So maybe you should just toss some chain and save your eyeballs.

Can't legally do it otherwise. I know this sounds weird and yes I know it is. Adopting Keri also legally makes her my next of kin and protects my will from any attempts by my biological family after I die from contesting it. I had a zoom meeting with my Attorney to discuss several items. I asked him how was the best way to make my new will ironclad and the next word out of his mouth was adopt. There are a lot of "boxes" that have to be checked off before this can be completed. While I have come to love Keri, my love for her is paternal love. This action is serious. One item from her divorce is changing her name back to her maiden name. When all this action has been finished Keri will actually start using my name as her legal name in all legal matters.

My heart attacks left me weak and very much aware of my own mortality. This also left me with a lot of time to think about my estate. Adopting Keri also helps make my advanced directives ironclad. If I am unable to make medical decisions Keri has my full power of attorney to make them AND she knows my wishes. So while the adoption of an adult sounds really weird, there is a lot of thought and estate planning behind it. I have no biological children. I also have a sister that honestly the most dangerous place I know of is between her and a dollar bill.
