Honestly that is bare minimum to make a company wage if nothing goes wrong. I wouldn't even own a truck for that little pay

They will also install driver facing camera's in your truck, and make you pay for them both initially and monthly. I didn't lease to them, but from what I was told, they don't pay FSC either and their insurance is 2-3 times more than anyone else, being its ICBC. Again, I did ok with them, because their contractor rates at the time were amazing, and the ABL authority I was working for had a decent relationship with them. Thus I didn't have to deal with their BS, payroll or safety. I know when we stopped doing ABL for them, 10-15 leased O/O's quit in about a 2 month period, and today they have a ton of unseated band new company trucks.
There is also no additional pay for fully loaded tridems (not even for ABL), and they pretty much expect you to pull 45 000lbs in a tandem reefer to the US. If you can't take it legally, you get to put the trailer back, bobtail home, and sit paying their insurance/deductions making 0 money. They also refuse to pay miles/work time to figure out that you're going to be overweight with the dispatched load. Luckily for me as an ABL/IC, we had a minimum callout charge in the contract, they always #####ed about it, and the owner of the authority had to constantly argue with them over it.
This was one of the factors that eventually led my ABL authority to quit working with them, as more and more we were overweight, and we had to reject the loads and get something from Bison/ CAT*SLH. Eventually we just did those van loads bypassing IHaul until I quit ABL all together. Expect 2-3 days unpaid to get loads out of the meat plants and another 1-3 days to get across the border/meat inspection for about $40bux.
Again, I did ok with them as an ABL/IC contractor, but if I was leased to them, I prob would have went bankrupt and lost my truck.Last edited: Jan 1, 2022

PS, Crossborder/Reefer in General in Canada is ####ED! You will be much better off with Van/Deck/SuperB/Tanker whatever. Reefer has totally gone to ####, and there is less than 0 respect for a drivers time or future now. This is why companies like Gold Freight, Lightspeed, Triple8, New Way are booming, absolute bottom dollar team service for the price of fuel. IHaul, People Express, Trivee, CPX are on the way out, think about that for a second lol.

Insurance??? Whats that?? Some of those company's don't even carry insurance.I found that out the hard way several years ago.
