Hello everyone,
I have a 1996 N14 with approx. 1.2m miles and yesterday during my drive I heard this weird sound coming from exhaust area of the engine. It goes up and down with acceleration and deceleration. My MPG is not affected and truck doesn’t run weird or any different. I do smell more exhaust than usual. I’ll post the video and tell me what you guys thing. I’m just confused as to what it could be. It sounds like an exhaust leak. If anyone can help identify this sound before I go ahead and take it somewhere. I just want to try and see if it’s something simple. Thanks to everyone and I appreciate any input or direction. Video below:

N14 are good about breaking head bolts and making a sound that sound likes exhaust leak.
-
And from my experience it happens more on that back head front corner for whatever reason.

blowed head gasket

If it helps, I don’t have any oil pressure issues. Still idling at 10 psi and 32 psi at highway speeds.

I can see the exhaust leak lol.
99% chance that's your issue.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
look to be dripping coolant out the exaust pipe
-
Well you definitely have an exhaust leak there at the joint, but what is dripping out of it? Had it been sitting a while and you just started it up to video or had it been running a long time? Could have just been condensation if it had been sitting
-
Yes, it sat literally about 10 hours and I fire it up to make sure it still turned over and it started right up no issues as far as starting. I’m just stumped. All that noise can be a bad manifold joint? Seems too noisy but I can be wrong. -
Well that joint is definitely leaking
