Probably. Seems like a great opportunity for some of the bigger US companies like Swift, Werner etc. to pick up some business. While many of our companies rely so much on cross border movement of goods that this could make a big impact it's a drop in the bucket for the big guys down south. Even with lower vax rates they could easily find more than enough drivers capable of crossing to easily pick up some freight when our guys start failing to deliver and pick up on time.

 

Y'all in the US are fine, it's us up here in Canada that are getting obliterated, esp at the border.

Side note, I used to drive down from Canada, and do LTL deliveries for 2-3 days in Las Vegas, wasn't half bad at all IMHO. That Pilot and TA sure suck tho lol.

 

Last I heard, they had 1 million pre-qualified through staffing agencies. All the Big Companies (Bison, Arnold Bro's, TransX, Rig and ESPICALLY Day and Ross) have 2-3 full time recruiters living overseas. That doesn't include the government of Canada people, and all the smaller recruiting agencies/body shops.

Vegas has changed A LOT, just in the past 2 years. It's going to be as bad as LA if they keep this up. If you don't believe me, just ask @Chinatown. He lives here too.

 

You bet your sweet biscuit there is. And the "blue mob" in Washington will be happy to comply. I've always felt that they are pushing the "trucker shortage" narrative as an excuse to bring in cheap labor for the megas.
