Jim, Congrats! I was in the Roadmaster class before you. Do you know what company you are going with?

YAY and gratz! I know the feeling! As for my trainer he's a heck of a nice guy but he says I need more clean practice in decent roads before I drive on slick and snowy roads. Our new load is going from St. Louis to Baltimore, so I'll be in the jump more than driving still. Right now the highways are good but he's worried they will get bad quick after the blizzard yesterday and before. I'm getting impatient and don't want to start all over again with a different trainer. So we'll see. The trainer asked for a load going away from the snow but we got this one. sigh Later for now guys and gals!

Smokr- I have been following along with your posts for a while and wanted to let you know I had to send the company my past tax returns as well as my current proof of unemployment. Fortunately the recruiter told me to submit the info prior to getting to the point you were at in training. I am very serious about going with Stevens, however my orientation is set up for March 21. Hopefully it will be moved up. That is a long time to wait. Good luck on your training.

I am set up for the same orientation date at Stevens! That date actually works out good for me. I can get my taxes done and spend most of the winter with my wife. I am sure I will be able to hit a spring snow storm while I am with my trainer.
I have very good friends in Dallas, so I am going to go out a week before and spend it with them. Then whenever I head into Dallas I may have the opportunity to see them.
I like the fact that Stevens will get me through alot of the country as part of my training!
I am excited and looking forward to it! I love it when a plan goes together!:yes2557:

Jim- If I stay with that date I will see you there. Actually we spoke several times at Roadmaster and you had said that date would work well for you. Look forward to seeing you there. From all I have investigated about different training companies Steven seems to be the most thorough. I am looking forward to it!:biggrin_255:

I agree with the others that you need a new trainer. You have been out for 2 weeks and you haven't done much if you have only been driving a hour or two a day. To give you something to compare with, I drove over 5,000 miles my first two weeks. Also, how are you supposed to learn how to drive in bad weather if you never get a chance?
