I just brought back 200 Cuban cigars. I fill so naughty for braking the rules of the State Department, will I loose my passport if I'm cought smoking one while driving down the road?
-
Like they'd ever know it was a cuban. Those are great smokes by the way which I'm sure you already know.
-
The roads will be much safer when those that think financial need makes them exempt from regulation are removed from the industry . Before long everyone will get the message . -
And I went on to say that the majority of big trucks accidents WERE THE FAULT OF THE 4 WHEELER!
In your haste to find fault with me, you mis-read what I posted.
I EAGERLY await YOUR apology! (which you most likely will find some reason to abstain from offering as a REAL MAN can admit his mistakes and is not AFRAID TO APOLOGIZE to those that he wronged) So I wont be holding my breath while I wait!
As to the Publid Citizen comment, you probably didnt know this, but they would like to see ALL DRIVERS PAID BY THE HOUR, not by the mile! I certainly dont agree with other stuff they have said, but I can most certainly agree with that belief. Just goes to show you even a group that may not be the sharpest tool in the shed can see the reason we dont comply is pay per mile and hourly pay is one way to encourage compliance.
Btw, hiw much time HAVE YOU ACTUALLY SPENT researching Public Citizen or OOIDA or CSA 2010 or any of the issues disscussed on this board? Or do you only sit here and passively read what others have wrote or listen to "experts" on the CB? Have you visited other websites, talked to these groups who have opposing ideas, educated yourself? If you have, try doing it again, but this time with an open mind!Last edited: Jan 10, 2010

Are you ready to apologize to the public you wrong by violating regulations using the excuse that you have to do that to earn enough to survive because only bottom feeder companies will hire you ? -
I really like the way you worded the statement regarding our INVOLVEMENT, not neccasarily, our RESPONSIBILITY in the 4500 fatalities attributed to car/truck accidents. May I use that statement? (Seriously, you worded it perfectly!)
As to my apolpogy to the public for violating regulations:
I will not blame anyone but myself!
I will not use the exuse that my kids often do; "everyone else is doing it!"
I will not attack you or others by implying they have probably done the same things or say that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones
Why not?: Becasue you are RIGHT! I have wronged the public thru my actions, it's only by the Grace of God that I have not been caught or hurt someone over the last 15 years!
All I can do now is tell you that I started a new job this week that runs electronic logs, actually repairs trucks as needed, not just when conveinent, and, most importantly to me, PAYS ME BY THE HOUR enough that I wont ever be have to choose between safety or money again.
Will that suffice as an apology? I cant go back and change the past, but I can AND WILL change how I do things in the future!JustSonny Thanks this. -
JustSonny and truckerdave1970 Thank this.

Actually you can get into trouble. Its called the "Trading With The Enemy Act." Unless you are a Kennedy, that is.
Kennedy-era embargo
In response to the Cuban alignment with the Soviet Union during the Cold War, President John F. Kennedy extended measures by Executive Order, first widening the scope of the trade restrictions on February 7 (announced on February 3 and again on March 23, 1962). According to former aide, Kennedy asked him to purchase 1,000 Cuban cigars for Kennedy's future use immediately before the extended embargo was to come into effect. Salinger succeeded, returning in the morning with 1,200 Petit H. Upmann cigars, Kennedy's favorite cigar size and brand.[7] Following the Cuban Missile Crisis, Kennedy imposed travel restrictions on February 8, 1963, and the Cuban Assets Control Regulations were issued on July 8, 1963, under the Trading with the Enemy Act in response to Cubans hosting Soviet nuclear weapons. Under these restrictions, Cuban assets in the U.S. were frozen and the existing restrictions were consolidated.Last edited by a moderator: Jan 11, 2010
