This topic seems sore sorry for the long post didn’t want to leave a lot of questions unanswered . I went to roadmasters in April and graduated in May, I decided to go with Werner and my training went on until July. During my training I didn’t back 1 single time;I guess my trainer was scared because a lot of the family dollar lots were tight. Mid-July I came to pick up my truck at a drop yard, filled out an inspection sheet and listed that the front bumper was hanging and drove to the dollar general terminal. When I got there the safety guy didn’t think much of it. This is where my first preventable accident happened, It was my first time backing at a store, I got out and looked at least 3 times
And I still couldn’t get it in there without getting in the grass like previous trucks had done, so I finally just tried to reverse over the curb and it ripped my front bumper off. The second one happened not long after in august
When I had to turn around because I missed my turn, so I turned left onto roadway shortly to find out it was a residential, so I decided to back but when I put the transmission in reverse my transmission light came on and I was unable to move I ended need a tow. This was a non preventable accident until I got my 3rd one.
My last accident happened in November and lead to my termination when I had to make a right turn on a residential to back in. While I was make my turn a 4 wheeler came down the side of the street I was swinging wide on instead of stopping they just kept coming so I turned tight and bent a stop sign because I thought I would I hit her, ( in hindsight I should’ve stopped and waited for her to back up). When I got back to the terminal they changed my 2nd accident to preventable and told me to clean out my truck. I really enjoy trucking despite my poor training and bad record I feel like I really can succeed In the industry. I’ve learned to slow down alot more to help me pay more attention to my surroundings. Just wondering if there is anything out there? or should I hang up the keys. Any advice and criticism is welcome.

They failed you by training you on the dollar account. Sorry they set you up like that. I don’t think you are done for. May have to go with a second chance type company.
nredfor88, tscottme, RockinChair and 13 others Thank this. -
I wouldn’t worry too much. Werner isn’t the best company and you clearly got setup for failure with that account. You’ll get another job… I think Chinatown will shoot some recommendations when he sees this. Watch your word choice on “accident” “incident” etc when applying for another company. Someone with more knowledge then me will be able to say what was and wasn’t an accident. Just don’t hit #### in the future and you’ll be golden out here, it’s the number one rule.

I don't get how the 2nd one was an accident. Sounds like your truck broke down?
