Better than me. I can’t weld aluminum for ####. That thing would look like Swiss cheese before I was done.

    LameMule and Oxbow Thank this.

Just short of 1,000 to the ground. Think I still have the Dyno printout at home in the shop. I don’t put a lot of value on dyno pulls though. I’ve had the exact same truck put down 2 numbers that were 150 hp different. All depends on how it’s calibrated the way it seems. Daily life for a Cat always seemed like 800-850 flywheel hp was starting to push the limit for survivability. My C16 could push 65 psi of manifold pressure on the stock 7CZ file, but I never really ran it over 40 psi pulling hills or anything. Even with the biggest radiator you’d push the temp gauge over 200 pretty easily using 1,000 hp. Just my experience anyways

A buddy of mine saw it for sale on Facebook a couple of weeks ago. Had a healthy price tag on it for the miles.

Agreed on the dyno numbers. I just use them as a guide so to speak. I'm contemplating doing a cam swap on my next build. Just not sure if it's worth the added expense. I'm pushing 40-45lbs or boost now with a 80mm 1.58 on a 5EK with about 9 something to the flywheel. The head is ringed but I still feel a little worry beating on it that hard under a full load. Was thinking with a cam and bigger injectors I wouldn't have to use so much boost.

I’m not an expert by any means, but I’ve had 2 5EK engines and had trouble with cracking the block on both of them when we started really cranking out the hp. Not sure if anyone else has had any trouble? One in a 1994 379, and the other was a 1995 362. I know they beefed up the blocks when they cast the 2WS series. But if you want to swap cams, I’d highly recommend that 201-2677. The valve lobes are the same as a truck can, but the injector lobe has a lot steeper ramp and longer duration
