Other truck drivers are buying beer, should I report them?

Depends, does your company policy state a company rule?
As a independent owner op, there is no federal regulation about transporting intoxicating liquor in commercial vehicles while off duty or PC. Very grey on sealed containers while on duty. Yet you have to resort to state law in the state your in.
But if your company policy says "No alcohol" you signed a agreement to work for them. They win.
Even watched a Ohio trooper find a Canadian brothers fridge of Hineys after a not at fault wreck on duty. Trooper could careless. Driver not at fault, driver not under the influence.
I will warn you to tread lightly in Ohio. 99% of them would have made it a problem. This trooper put it on the vehicle inventory and went on his way.
You are guilty until proven innocent.
Just like gun laws. Don't exist in a commercial vehicle federally.
Certain that will bring out some guys telling me I'm wrong.Midlife, Bean Jr. and Rubber duck kw Thank this. -
Most states (maybe all states) have open container laws, so don’t have an open container in a moving vehicle.

I thought PA and TX the passagers could have open containers. But that was 20+ years ago. -

OH is the same. Dont walk in to public either. Or anything deemed public with a open container.
Now a new thing is drinkinging areas. If you have the cup, the bars buy from the city. You can walk in a certain area with it. Funny how money buys your way out of laws. INDY has a huge area were open containers are legal. Dont step over the line, your then illegal.Bean Jr., Rubber duck kw and clausland Thank this. -
Had beers in the cooler today, cracked one open during my 10 hour and rode the rest of the load with the other five in the cooler until I was done. Texas. I’d just give the trooper a cold one and be on my way. O/O btw, probably makes a difference.Midlife Thanks this. -
