Hallo drivers. Our ez loader trailer has no tail lights. Turn signals brake lights and side markers work. This is a very well taken care of trailer. I was planning on starting with the control box located on the tandems. I've checked and cleaned the pig tail connector. Where could the problem be? Stay safe out there.

Start at the truck and make sure its sending power on that circuit. Then try and spread the tail light pin in the receptacle at the front of the trailer. If that doesn't work I'd just keep moving down the wire and check for power at every junction point until you lose power. If you get all the way to the lights themselves and still have power, check the ground for the tail lights.

Pull the taillights out of the box and check the wires. They'll often rub through and ground out your lights.

Look for any hanging wires or harness under the trailer from the tail lights to the tandems

Do you have marker lights down the side or is everything out? That would determine where to start looking.

Thank you all for your help. I was able found what the problem was. The wiring harness to the tail lights lower level on the driver side are touching causing the lights to short out. I unplugged the female connector. All lights work except the one I unplugged. I Called cottrell to order a replacement but they are on back order. Cottrell is also having supply issues on parts.

Look on Raney’s.com for most all plugs for your lights or possibly a local chrome shop may have them since you can’t currently get them from Cottrell. Raney’s usually has them to you in a couple days. Generally they are a common plug and aren’t specific to Cottrell.
