The big orange ball. Way back in the pre-craphole days.

But then how are the truck stops going to keep us moving? One customer only purchases so much. You need to have high turnover to profit. This isn't about making life tolerable for truck drivers, it's about money.

Pigdude, what was your favorite Orange Ball location? Mine was the one in my hometown
of Denver, specifically the Bar-B 76 in Wheat Ridge (east Denver). Hamilton's in LaSalle, Illinois
was another favorite when my folks and I would drive through on family trips.

Liberty Bell 76 in Elkton, MD had a great restaurant.

The fuel desk always gave out an OBSCENE amount of S&H Green Stamps, plus there was always a pile of them on the counter from drivers who didn't save them.

I bought my first 12-volt accessory, a hot cup, with them.

I feel fortunate that I started trucking before the 76s all shut down. I miss them.

That truck in the commercial......is that a White Road Commander?

We still have some of those trucks. You sure you want those back?

Used to have Detroit 2 strokes but swapped the engine out with Cat 3406b’s.

My fingers sure didn’t appreciate smacking the pillar when turning those big steering wheels.

    They’re still fun and interesting.

I laughed when I saw how many hand operated cab air vents some Mack’s had.

We also have a 2 stick mack cement truck.

    Those are very simple days

This is exactly the problem with big business. Their so busy watching the bottom line, they are distracted from watching their customers (needs).

If you build it, they will come. If they come, the money will follow.

There were several I liked, but Amarillo always comes to mind. I got the greatest country fried steak ever at a tiny one in Kentucky, but I can’t remember the town. I always like the one outside of Erie, too.
