    Next Gen 680 update.

So far nothing has fallen off. lol

18,200 miles on one and 7100 miles in the other.
The higher mileage truck has been from NY to Washington state to Midwest to Southwest already. It’s averaging right at 8 mpg running 70 to 75.

The lower mileage truck has been in the road less time and ran all Midwest and northeast at 70 mph. It’s at 7.7 mpg so far.

I think both are breaking in still but I’m already really happy with the extra fuel mileage from this new body design. I didn’t know what to expect but I’d say it’s worth .3 to .4 mpg.

The X15 is doing great as expected. Both drivers love the new trucks. One is an old timer who at first complained about the digital dash but now loves it. haha

Does the 680 have latches on the fairings under the cab? If they do you may want to make sure the bolts that mount the latches aren’t working loose. My project for tomorrow is putting Loctite on all the bolts on mine.

Im not sure. Would you mind posting a couple pics tomorrow so I know what you mean exactly? Below the side piece or between the side piece and cab? Here’s a pic of those bottom aero jobs bending

Wouldn't be a problem except i had sold 2 trucks when these were coming in. Had me down to one spare truck.
Now the wait is on a couple of Volvo's that are scheduled for March.

Yes That sucks trying to time when trucks are gonna make it in. I had my truck sold and had to pull out of it because new truck still is not built. It was suppose to be built this week and wasn't in production as of Thursday. So now I am waiting on a new build date unless it got built Friday. Frustrating situation to be in. Glad you are getting that truck finally.

Even when dirty the silver still looks clean. At night time it still shines even when it's dirty.

This year were sending it out to have the frame blasted and painted. Thinking of doing the frame in the same silver or grey

This is how the latches are on my 579. You can’t use a longer bolt with a nut because there’s not enough clearance. So I’m going to Loctite them all and see if that works better. Otherwise I’ll keep tightening them back up every few days. It’s a real stupid design.

No. On every latch the top one threads in the opposite way from the bottom two. That’s some Peterbilt logic. Lol
