its about fairness not money. its not right for a 8 cent driver to run 1 cent driver area and 1 cent driver to run 8 cent driver area

I think the first DC that said they would take action would be shut down and turned over to one of the big carriers as a warning to other DC's. Kimberly Clark in New Milford CT got rid of their well paid drivers a few years ago and put Schneider National in. Schneider National isn't union but the drivers at New Milford told management they wanted the union in so Schneider just shut the facility down and ran it from Carlisle PA.

The 38 cent deal shows it's all about money so I was a little surprised they didn't 'outsource' it then. Even at 1cent a mile raise it's still a good easy well paid job. At least to me it was. :)

I’m not exactly sure how much of an actual raise most of you thought you were going to get, but .75 cpm was never going to happen. I pointed out in a previous post that anything greater than a .10 cpm bump was going to cost WM hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Remember, WM has well over 9000 fleet drivers. Do the math on that. Even a company as big as WM would be stretched to provide that large of a raise to just one segment of their workforce. Now I do agree that even in the smaller dc’s, the raise should be more than a penny. If I were working out of a DC that bumped pay only a penny, I’d be torqued as well. But I also see the merit of paying differently depending on geographic location. You can bet store associates don’t make the same wage across the country..so why should the fleet drivers? But again, a slightly bigger increase in pay in the areas that only got a penny would have gone a long way.

Its about respect and not treating us drivers like mushrooms. Kept kicking the can down the road putting off the news. Should just be honest and upfront about it

As for not being able to afford it, I call BS.
How many associates at stores got hired in at $15/hr and can't even operate a pallet jack and offload a truck in time?

    Midway Tn got 1cpm.
    London Ky got 8cpm.
How in the world is this right-fair-logical.
If you live in KnoxvilleTn, its the same distance to both DC's

I know several drivers who work out of Midway, that have already put in a transfer request for London.

Why didnt they just give everyone 5cpm?
Does anyone think that drivers will apply to DC's that pay 7cpm less that others?

A new driver at London Ky will make more than the top man at Midway.

To me, it show's that the people in Bentonville are really not very smart.

All that was done here, was to piss alot of good drivers off, and they will lose alot of drivers over this.

got that right. so when a midway driver runs london's freight. he is working for 7 cents a mile cheaper. plus london night meat and produce get 7 cents more anyway. so thats 14 cents more a mile. so i would get 68 cent a mile if i run london's meat and produce at night.
