Wouldn't want to have one of those $150,000 half million mile trucks right about now.
Freight volume dropping and brokers don't want to pay
Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

Making hand over fist. I tell brokers I want 7 stops, no detention on pick ups- only delivery, I want to be on dock taking pictures, tracking, check calls all the time. Do what others cannot do or are not willing to do and you will make out. I will not go out of business. Looking to make 250K after all expenses paid ( 100% new equipment and very expensive insurance) Run into the direction of work and away from steady and routine. Put your truck where there is a shortage and not where you enjoy to run. Trailer gets sanitized and has microban. Only the highest quality equipment money can buy and the brokers knows it. Collard shirt, professional, 100% dedicated to the broker as they are the most important customer on the planet. All paperwork submitted immediately after delivery. Always get more money after a few loads with a broker, and that makes a difference in the long run. It’s just too easy to take up the high paying loads folks don’t want to get bothered by. -In the end, it’s only service. Nothing more. Have you provided the best service a customer had in their career? If not, do it.

I'm not seeing Freight crashing. Some markets are a little softer but overall everything still looks great out there.

The sky is falling! I haven't shaven in months, put mailbox letters on for decals, wear flip flops with unmatched socks, and walk into shippers with my fly open about 90% of the time.
And I just booked another 8k$ load that picks up today and delivers Monday. Should be at 13k by Wednesday afternoon.

Memorial Day will be the turning point IMO for summer, rates will either crash or will get left behind on inflation l and we will all be #####ing about who is pulling this $4 a mile freight next year when fuel is $7 a gallon and you can’t even run a truck down the road for that
Vampire, KB3MMX, LilRedRidingHood and 6 others Thank this.
