I just paid $4.30/gal in Michigan with my EFS "discount" LOL. So far that's the highest I've paid.

Those of us with these lovely emissions trucks can't forget about the cost of DEF either. That's gone up well over a buck per gallon from a year ago. $4.09 at this TA.

And yet those who know how to run a profitable business survived.

It's called Entitlement Mentality.. alot people feel they are owed the right to spend money they really don't have because their freedom was restricted for 2 years because of covid.. they don't care if they can't make their mortgage payments or buy groceries or pay their utilities.. because the government will pay them for them.. they just have to cry loud enough to be heard..
The mentality of this country is embarrassing and makes me sick to watch
What ever happened to work or go hungry ? And if you work enough you can earn the right to the rewards ??

one difference was not many def trucks running around. As @JonJon78 stated, def is now a big factor not only cost of def but maintenance and the break downs associated with it.

I’ve been in the industry going on 27 years, it ebbs and flow, has peaks and valleys. We have been riding high with record high rates for years, if you had any business sense you’ve been putting money away for a future down turn, instead of buying that new $60K pick up or new boat.

The thinning of the herd will most definitely happen, it always does in a downturn.

    Dad’s FL cabover was $63k in 1980. Grandpa’s new K100 was $29k in 1974.

Other than inflation, what else was the difference in the trucks? Serious question because we are looking at 180k a year ago to 275k in a year and there is essentially minimal differences in the trucks.

while a 74 - 80 might have seen huge differences in engineering.

Also would like to ask if a KW and a FL have always had a price difference as they are currently do for something similar.
