Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

I'm going to a new shop. When you get an estimate, they usually charge 30% more than an estimate when work is actually done.

 

That seems crazy. Am I the only one thinking like that?

 

Half of these so called “owner operators” have no clue what their operating costs is, forget a break even point, or cost per mile. I update my spreadsheet on a weekly basis, and know my numbers every week, month, and quarter.
