naa the double brokers won’t pay for the Volvo.

you think the ones asking are people who will drive? It’s most likely double brokers who had the carrier MC busted and can’t book loads anymore.

I have never keep track of the percentage of broker to wet behind the ears booger eating wanta- be O/O's.. those I can spot in a heat beat because the only thing they fall short of when replying to a # for sale .. is they stop short of saying name your price I will pay as much as you want while they are foaming at the mouth
Where the brokers are alittle more reserve

Actually, it's crazy NOT to put them in every day. Not trying to tell you how to run your business but if I were you I'd keep a notebook. Start a new page or section for every month and write down the amount of every single business receipt in it after every purchase (at the same end of each day) AND write down in it the amount of any paid invoices immediately upon receipt.

Then, at the end of every month, add up the paid invoices and then subtract the expenses and this gives you a solid idea of what you made (or lost) that month. I'd also make a mark on the left side of the page for every night I spend out from home to keep track of Per Diem deductions. Add those up at the end of the month and multiply times whatever the IRS gives for that deduction for the year.

This process works great for me and it helps me tax plan as the year moves along as well. At the end of each month I put 35 percent of that bottom line number aside for my tax bill.

What's the point of an estimate or quote if they're going to jack that number up thirty percent? I'd give them a 10 percent amount of leeway and that's it. Anything over that would not get paid by me.

You can do a Google spreadsheet. Enter it on your phone while your out and the office can access it on the computer in real time. ;)

Watching the news this morning, some of the "experts" are predicting high fuel prices ( even higher than what they currently are ) to last through the summer...:eek:

They also claim 64% of Americans live pay check to pay check.... :biggrin_2554:

And with them spending most of that check on fuel to get to work, all other items will suffer.

Well its between $5.00-$5.20 today in Indiana, atleast in my area.

I'm off the rest of the week, tanks are less than 1/4. Think I might go fill them up today, at this rate it might be $6.00 by Monday :(

No reason to suspect they'd be going down any time soon. There is a mid-term election coming up that may shed a little light on the situation but that's 8 months away. Barring a miracle don't expect anything to get better at least until then.

The paycheck to paycheck thing looks like a realistic number. That's just a lifestyle choice that people could fix themselves if they really wanted to. It's hard...there's nothing glamourous about living life within your means and so most people don't see any big reason to.
