Several drivers I know there made $85K plus there last year, one basically lives in the truck made just over $100k. I’ll take a little less money without all the micromanagement, they have the best maintenance program I have ever seen in 27 years out here.

Some of the others that post on here that work for other mega’s probably didn’t make much more than $85K either. Plus they seem to be broke down somewhere at least twice a month.

Man that’s no kidding. When I was doing orientation and I did the walk thru of the shop, I couldn’t believe they could get any freight moved with the service intervals of their trailers alone. And seeing as many trailers with the service due dates on them as I do shagging, they seem to keep up with it and got it figured out. It’s pretty impressive.

Big advantage of MOST of the freight going out and back. To or from the NE/IA/KC area. You dont have a ton of trailers randomly bouncing around the country.

    Mostly accurate.
    A few minor corrections.

-Long Haul has an additional CPM in addition to their base CPM and in addition to the Quarterly Bonus

-while there might be an OTR Driver making $65k I can guarantee there are more miles available to them IF they want it. I’m not running as hard as some here (by choice) and I cleared much more than 65k. So maybe that driver has needs that keep them from running more miles. (Not Judging)

-home time is really more about getting your quarterly miles and not days out. Ya, I know the official policy. So if you are running, they are pretty flexible. Due to a truck issue I was down for almost two weeks, but I ran hard enough to still get my quarterly base bonus. And I tend to have many opportunities to take a 34 in places where friends and family live so I get off the truck and actually get a “bonus day off” but it looks like a simple reset. I’d consider Regional but that won’t work for me while I live in South Carolina. So ya, there are reasons to be Long Haul instead of Regional.

-as to the non FCC issues… yes, many times people across industries must change jobs or companies to “get a better raise” and that’s how the market for labor work.

    -inflation? Ya, it sucks.
A LOT and especially right now and that will put pressure on all companies to raise wages, which creates more inflation. Rise Repeat

Are there better CPM jobs out there… sure… just a part of a bigger picture… yup.

I’ll take a good company with great people over a few more CPM any day. But that’s me.

Just had a strange thing happen.

I just pulled out from under a load and something didn’t feel right. I was going but something was holding me back. I adjusted my mirrors to watch my wheels and the back set were turning freely but the front set seemed as if the air brakes were still applied.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

All the time, in the winter time when the trailer brake shoes freeze to the drum. On the tractor, not usually, and never with disc brakes.
