Do not use Speedco. Three times they messed something up so I swore them off for years then recently went back thinking they still can’t be bad. Well they screwed up the fuel filter gasket and I was stuck at a TA pump.

    Screw Speedco!

    I don’t understand what’s so difficult. It’s do a, b, c. It’s not rocket science.

I don’t trust them anymore and do all my changes at home. They used to be good but once Loves bought them bahh they changes completely. I can’t speak for very location but the ones I used to go to were Milan,NM - Amarillo, TX and Eloy, AZ and honestly all of them suck big time. They will lie to you that you are low on fluids down there or that your brakes are out of adjustment hell the manager ( looks like a prisoner) in Eloy, AZ will even tell you the drive line is loose he can tighten it for some cash blah blah hahahah. I wouldn’t let them wash my windshield anymore honestly stay away from them if you can.. I have nothing positive to say about the 3 locations. Save yourself the headache.

I have installed Fumoto valves in all the trucks at their first oil change, they pay for themselves with no cross threaded drain plugs when the oil is changed. Big improvement.

when I used speedco, about 1 in 30 oil changes would be missing the valve and speedco would charge us $20 for the replacement plug.

Now this isn’t as bad as t/a who both lost many of the fumoto valves and cross threaded the replacements.

i had talked to the regional people at both these companies and asked them how in the heck does one lose one of these valves when they are not meant to be removed and that is the entire purpose of having them in the first place,

They didn't tighten the oil plug on my uncle's B motor and ruined it

I don’t trust Speedco to tell me if the sun is shining or not without checking for myself. Had a horrible experience in OKC back when I had my FLD and I haven’t been to one since.

Was the summer of 2015 and I was running calves out of FL. Swung by for a service and there was no line. Perfect! 4 hours later and a new top for my Davao and I was leaving with fresh oil and filters. They kept pinching the o ring on the Davco and absolutely would not let me just put it on myself. Then they broke the top after cross threading it.

Reminds me of Penske 14th and Dequinder , likes to tighten filters with channel locks , cost us big time behind the fence at the Pentagon .
So no your not safe do it yourself.

If you put my fuel filters on with a filter wrench you won't be taking them off very easy. Last time the truck stop did em I mangled them all to hell getting it off. Hand tight is all you need. They seem to tighten on their own

I changed mine last week down south where it’s warm. Put a new quick drain valve on it last time. It was easy. Got some empty jugs from the Shop. Nosed in, put cardboard on the ground, lined a small box with plastic bag, for filters. Barely got my hands dirty. Hit the shower. Dumped the oil in their pit on my way out next morning. I’ll grease it tomorrow when I’m home, since it’s warmed up some. Usually I pay a Shop $40 to do the grease, in winter especially. It’s worth it. Need a battery operated grease gun, make the Job easier. I’m not crawling around on the Truckstop parking lot. Dirt lot at home. Lots of big cardboard, I keep when they line my Trailer with it. I use it for a lot of different jobs around the house. Handy to have.
