One of the blade trailers I pulled ran the steering that way - worked fine but was just a tad slow.
How do RGN trailers work?

As he mentioned I have 20’ G70 chains as well as a few 10’ chains. My 10’ are 1/2” G70. I also carry at least 4 shackles that I can hook directly into the frame of bigger excavators and lizard trucks if need be…. -
Yes, they are a little slower since the pump is high pressure but low volume…cke, CAXPT, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -

For lighter stuff like mini excavators and skid steers 5/16" G70 are handy. Medium stuff around 30,000 lbs. 3/8" G70 or greater, and heavier stuff 1/2" G70 or greater.
It was a hot topic for a while here whether or not G100 should be used. I use all G100 because it takes a lessor number of chains to meet WLL requirements, and because the manufacturers and the FMCSA green book all acknowledge the use of grade 100. G100 are considerably more expensive though.
I have a mix of snap binders and screw binders but tend to use the screw binders more now. You will want some PB Blaster or similar type lube with screw binders available at all times, and lube them frequently. I use all Crosby/Lebus binders, but they are expensive. There are less expensive binders that work fine, but for durability and quality one can't go wrong with Crosby. We have a local store that supplies crane and rigging outfits that carry Crosby. -

I use to buy quite a bit of rigging from a place in Mobile, Alabama. They had some pretty good stuff…cke, CAXPT, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
