First...glad your ok, but how don't you know what happened? I would think your company is concerned because you don't know why you hit the guard rail. Not trying to kick you when your down, but I don't want you on the road either if you wreck and don't know why!!
First accident and it is not small..... Will they fire me?

Most guardrails are away from the pavement normally. The exception would be crossing a bridge where it is inches from the fog line. Also most are feet off the ground so the damage would be higher than it shows in the pics. I mean the damage to the area near the step to me is below the bottom of the rail. And quite a bit of damage to the inside area of the tire. Also, truck is on the hook in the pics right ? Good luck to ya' You hit the rail, you drifted off the pavement.

The damage to the inside of the rim looks like impact with something or if it matches the outside damage it’s hard to guess with just 2 pictures. Please stop busting on the newbie EVERYONE has moments of reduced concentration any normal mind wants to wander a bit.

Sheared steering arm bolts off at the knuckle. That takes a solid strike with some force.
Note that it looks like the steering arm is still connected to the cross link.Last edited: Mar 26, 2022

Must have dozed off. You see trucks drift off on to the shoulders all the time. It gets on to the rumble belt then jerk back over. We've all done it. It happens.
In construction zones you can't do that. Gotta be on your best behavior. You won't have any shoulder at all and other trucks will still pass you invariably. You'll feel like a bullet flying down a barrel.MACK E-6, austinmike and snowlauncher Thank this. -
