Holy #### that axle's bent like 75 degrees!

With that amount of force I'd be amazed if the frame wasn't tweaked.

I’d think you hit something on the highway looking at those sheared off bolts on the inside of the steering knuckle.

That is a Cascadia... There has been at least 1 or 2 recalls for steering componants failing causing a loss of control... Maybe this is one that should have been recalled, or wasnt repaired after the recall was issued.

I would be looking to find out if that truck was issued a recall, and if so did it actually get repaired.

Possible Arm Chair Diagnosis, Maybe, Might Have Been Possible With At Least A Dozen MORE Pictures Including What You Hit, How You Hit And The Roadway Behind Your Trailer.

I'm Curious as to How You Cannot Recall HOW It Happened!!

I made a Left Turn onto the short road That Goes To The Anniston, AL., Army Base, in 2013.
Morning, Had been raining, I travelled less than 1 hour to there after a 10, I DID NOT SEE The 4 wheeler, because it wasn't fully Light, without Headlights and Turned Because I Thought It Was Clear.
2/3 way into Turn, KA-BLAM...into Rear Drive......and I cleared intersection and parked.
Car Bounced Into East Bound Lane.

Ya I don't know how dashcam not working. We have smart drive, it triggers bases a side to side, hard deceleration save 10 second before and after. I been told by safety it was not working, not at the time of accident, but was off the entire time! Noone told me about it and I wasn't aware

You need to honestly think about how this happened and be honest with yourself. You don't have to tell anyone here the truth of what happened. But if you have no idea what happened that either means you are blacking out, or you can't tell when you are driving over a guardrail. Each of us have reached for something or been trying to do something and veered out of our lane, etc. The only logical reason I can think of you could hit a guardrail and not know it is you blacked out. How safe do you think it is for you, your truck, other people on the road if you are blacking out behind the wheel? How are you going to face the consequences if you black out again and someone dies? If I was betting lots of my money, I would bet you were doing something else, fiddling with the radio/phone, reaching for something, only you know what, and you don't want to admit it. Like I said all of us have done that but we have the experience to only do that when we aren't in a lane that is 3 inches bigger than the truck or surrounded by 4 wheelers, etc. If I thought I had blacked out, I wouldn't drive again until I found out why. I can't imagine sitting in court answering questions about the next accident, knowing this accident is going to be called my warning that I had a problem. ONLY you know if you blacked out or if you were busy doing something else. You are in charge of you. Make decisions like the outcome is important.

Have you ever "woken up" in the middle of the day while you were doing something? Do you fall asleep instantly when you were just expecting to sit down and wait for something? I don't know if diabetes causes moments of "lost time". The most common medical issues for truck drivers is diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiac/stroke. Are there other unexplained incidents before you got into trucking? When you wake up is your throat/mouth extremely dry? do you feel tired even after "your log shows 10 hours off"? You're the only person on the scene so you have to think carefully about this event or other events.

He's not asking for you to explain how your dashcam wasn't working. He's asking how do you not know what you were doing? Were you driving in a very narrow construction lane where the guardrail is very close to your wheels? Did you get close to that side of the lane but you didn't think you were close enough to hit the guardrail? We can't guess at every possible explanation.
