Sure looks like it, I can't forget sitting in that parking lot for a good 9 hours...

It's not really stupid, so much as it's dependent on several things. The regs specify the things like length and weight to determine the required securement, so more than likely the 3 is required for those aspects but also may be required by the company to haul their stuff.

Keep in mind, that a piece over 10 feet with no restraining header requires 2 restraints within the first 10 feet and one for every part or 10 foot section after. PODS has several sizes, but 12 is the smallest from looking at their site. That makes 2 for the 10 and one for the 2 feet extra. Now, consider that not all those PODS get's loaded or unloaded at one spot, so if the front one gets removed, you no longer have a blocking piece in front of the one behind so you would have to add another one when you unloaded the first one. Best guess is that the company requires it for that reason, but also the regs require it also if there is no header in front. I know intermodal containers requires front and back securement with additional as required so there could be a little overlap with that regulation that makes it a requirement. Been awhile since I've hauled them, but that would encapsulate why I would secure it that way just to be safe. :)

Does this count as flatbed work? They requested lowboys today for placing barriers… 1B8B33F9-BAF2-41B2-B89F-4D9A1844EE6E.png

Apparently this is 42,000lbs and needs pipe stakes. I’m glad it was $11/mile

    I don’t understand brokers *facepalm*

Ya, I had to do the same. Won't load there again. About the only positive is they have that crane deal that lifts the tarp over the load. How long were you there for?

Wtf....what crane deal? I had to toss my 8fters up there myself. No joke. I was in and out quick. I was only 1 of 2 guys there at the time and they loaded me first. Even though the other guy was there first. I think it was like 2.5 hours total...by the time I showed up until I left. However, on the way out, the parking lot was jammed.....and nobody looked too thrilled about it.
