Is there a special spot to talk about weigh stations? If there is i must be missing it. I just had some info on a MN weigh station that i wanted to share today. If there isn't a special spot to talk about them could we get one?

Dan, this is as good as any. Driver's what is the easiest scale in the land to make it through. Then which do you feel is the hardest. I talk to a lot of driver's about this either at the scale or roadside. The anwser's always leave me saying hhhmmmmmmmmmmmm.

The most convoluted pain in the rear has to be the one outside of Washington DC, where 95 and 495 come together.
If you are on 95 south you have to get in the right lane (according to the sign) to exit. Then it will be a ramp to your left on the exit ramp to 495 west.
Not one 4-wheeler in that lane has any interest at all in letting you move over to the scale house lane. So normally if I am going that way I have to miss the scale (after trying hard to get to it).
Also a pain from other directions, but that is the last way I went.

Banning Ca I-10 Westbound was/is the worst in my book.
But then the scales at Winterhaven down on I-8 going into Ca, can be a pain too, but I think they just get board, and have nothing better to do.

The east bound scales at Strafford MO I-44 East, are the easiest, oh wait they are not there, closed except for truck parking, that makes them one of the best.

MN has been doing lots of roadside inspections and setting up in non-coop weigh stations like i saw today. They have tons of pull off locations and today they were using both the NB and SB sites on I35 north of I-90.

I hate the weigh station off I82 in oregon by the columbia river going south, get off the interstate to the bottom of the ramp, turn right and stop at the red light, then a right turn into the weigh station yard, make the loop back to the light then a quick left and a quick right back up to the interstate. What a night mare it can be just getting thru the red light twice. I actually went flying by there one night and it was open, my pre pass didnt go red or anything so i went on by, i figured i would be chased down but i wasnt, they must not have seen me.

What was California thinking when they put a scale at the bottom of the hill at Cajon Pass. I mean brakes smoking and all.
