Yeah, your lucky too. After the scamdemic, it's all online now. They just send you a list of what they want and you email it over to them.

    Yep, good advice here.

My wife is the primary, so if a notice comes in she has 30 days to schedule the test and inform me to go take the quiz.

Most guys in here are old school but for the new guys, here’s my last week.

So this last week I've been on a mission to basically drive around and get inspections.

I had zero intention of making any money because my main goal was to strictly get inspections.

REGARDLESS, I still hit up the truckstop.com load board to help out - here is how the last 8 days have went and what I have made and spent for people looking to get into this industry.

Weds March 23rd I started in Williston, ND

There was no freight so I took a 48k load of pipe out of town to get me into a freight lane.

    Williston, ND to Gillette, WY - $900 for 340 miles = $2.65 / mile
I did not fuel at this point because diesel was over $5 / g in Gillette

I left at 2pm and delivered the next day Thursday March 24th.

Pretty much delivered and drove to next stop to pickup. This was a decent load, 10 tires at 20,000lbs.

    Gillette, WY to Carlin, NV - $2300 for 780 miles = $2.95 / mile
Northing crazy but I got decent fuel MPG for it was okay in my books. I did fuel in Little America, WY
I like to round so it was $600 in fuel.
I didn't quite make it so I had to deliver Friday March 25th.

I lucked out hard and dropped off March 25th and found another load in the same town.

Carlin, NV to Salt Lake City, UT - $1700 for 251 miles = $6.77 / mile
I did not want to fuel because UT was crazy for fuel!
Customer was nice and let me deliver Saturday March 26th.

Took Sunday March 27th off for a reset.

    Monday March 28th.
Found a quick load from Salt Lake City, UT to Lemington, UT for Monday morning.
Salt Lake City, UT to Lemington, UT - $900 for 110 miles = $8.18 / miles
At this point I was just trying to hit up my home ( Phoenix, AZ ) so I was looking for loads down this way.

While I was heading this way I found an OK load to AZ for same day. Had to fuel in Fillmore, UT = $740 ( ouch )

    Monday March 28th.
    Fillmore, UT to Lakeside, AZ - $1700 for 500 miles = $3.40 / miles

Now I'm getting sick of being OTR so I just want to go home.

At this point I deadhead 290 miles to Kingman, AZ to grab a load of plastic pipe.

Kingman, AZ to Colorado Springs, CO - $3000 for 770 miles = $3.90 / mile
Had to fuel up again kind of 1/2 way = $650

Got to Colorado Springs and already had an OS load setup back to my home town.
Had to fuel again = $625

    Greely, CO to Killdeer, ND - $3500 for 585 miles = $5.98 / miles
    OS permits = $75

SOOOOOOO After 8 days....... here are the end results.

    Total Miles ( Including deadhead ) = 4450 miles
    Total Gross Revenue = $14,000
    Total Fuel = $2615
    Extras = $75

    Total Profit = $11,301

    Which equals $1413.75 / day

NOW I was strictly going off the load board and had no hook ups for customers --- so this is a good idea for someone who wants to get into the game. There is an option to make money, you just have to constantly be on the lookout for good loads / hit up the right lanes.

Thanks, that's what I was after. You posted that 17k and 25k number and I was curious how much difference there really was in the amounts needed. So about $3,600.00 annually. Just for the Lease OP insurance required sans the Primary that the carrier has to pony up.

I get what you're saying, but total profit was not $11k, unless you're truck, trailer, insurance, license, maintenance, etc.etc. is all free.

You gotta remember if you lease on to a carrier, you're gonna give them 10-35% off the top. You're still paying for it, it's just through their authority.
