Yup. That’s how it is now. Dispatcher knows I can get it all done so he loads me up. But it also helps because then I’m busy until 530 and then my half hour drive back and call it a day without a switch.

Forgot to mention that right now I have a commute of one hour one way. New job will either be no commute or 25 minutes.
Texas_hwy_287 and Lumper Humper Thank this. -
Due to a very unfortunate april fools day (not even kidding) i’m in a rental with no pintle hook. Guess i’m about to try your method @road_runner lol. As for what happened on april fools day, truck had a air leak so I jumped in one of 2 rentals we have, on the way out of barn one of the air brake canisters explodes lol. Now i’m in the other rental.
road_runner, jmz and Cardfan89 Thank this. -

1. Always start with a straight line back.
2. When the dolly gets more than a few inches out of line, don't keep trying to correct it. Just make a small pull-up to straighten it out, then keep going back. -
We do doubles a bit different here in SD. 45 or 42 foot trailers and up to 129k or 105k if headed to ND.
Not all of our twin screws are licensed and permitted for this, and our single screws most surely are not.
Found out one of our newer drivers (been with the company 9 months or so) found something wrong with his normal truck (probably imaginary knowing him) and had to take a different truck. Now i know there was a properly licensed though kinda junky 16 pete in the yard he could have grabbed or a half a dozen twin screws registered for 80k that would have at least looked the part. What does he hook to his set. A little Freightliner single screw licensed for something like 55k and off to fargo he went grossing around 100k and over 100 feet long with that little single screw tractor. Good help sure is hard to find these days.misterG, The Shadow, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this. -
My single’s tagged for 80K.

You have the drive, dolly, and two trailer axles all good for 20K each, plus your steer.
I’ve pulled sets before that would’ve been over gross with a twin screw. I like it because it means not having to take a different truck for a weekend run, unless I’ll have a heavy long box one way.Lumper Humper Thanks this.
