@brettw777 My PM abilities are disabled due to my status. Its not that people cannot name or discuss companies, the Admin wishes to keep the board neutral with opinions from drivers, not those who stand to gain financially via hires (Recruiters and those making a lot of money on referral bonuses). As some of my posts in the past have been borderline "recruiting," I have to walk a fine line to not get banned permanently, so I definitely won't put a message back on your profile to answer any questions. There is one forum category here where recruiting is allowed, and if you find yourself in there, all your questions can be answered.

TNI allows you to work that way, but it will be a different truck each time you return.

Lots of trucks out working with cross-shift drivers on them. From the carrier prospective it can be problematic. I had a truck on a job like that for a couple of years. The only time it worked was when I had a couple of guys that used to run as a team on it. No problem with them sharing a truck. They shared the same truck at the same time without killing each other. The rest of the time it was more static and background noise than it was worth and I let the account go. Pretty much the same misery as team operations and I want no part of it. Those jobs are out there though if you hunt them up. Something to consider, have you thought about another like minded soul to put some applications out with? Same as with teams, two guys walk in together to apply they get that warm fuzzy feeling because 2/3 of their job is already done.

I currently work a 4 x2 rooster with 4 weeks on 2 weeks off but have actually been away from home for nearly 7 months due to covid-19 and isolation, the 28 x 28 would be best for those that don't mind being away a little longer but than at the same time your granted a much longer amount of time off too. I just find that the 7 and even 14 days go by to quickly where as a whole 4 weeks is perfect.

You've got my curiosity up. Why would it be problematic from a carrier perspective? It seems like it would be a problem solver because the carrier has the truck moving at all times and when I say 2 weeks, it doesn't have to be exactly 2 weeks because this is trucking. You can't always get home on the exact day you want to get home but a two week approximation is all I really mean. I already have one carrier interested. I had thought about just finding another driver and then us applying at a company together but I don't think I'm going to have any trouble finding a driver. I would just advertise the job myself and for some driver who wants to work part-time because his house is paid off and he's getting older and wants to spend time with his kids and grandkids, it's a no-brainer. Working hard for 2 weeks with the right company can make someone $50,000 a year and be off two weeks a month. I can make that now with my company but they're still contemplating the two weeks on and 2 weeks off part.

In theory, a lot of things work. Getting 2 guys to share a truck without killing each other or giving me a headache I don’t need proved nearly impossible at the end. Like I said, two guys cross-shifted that truck for most of the time I had it on that job and it was painless. The remainder of the time was more trouble than it was worth to me. I have 0 time for interpersonal bs and crying. When the contract came up I let it go. That’s just me, I don’t have the patience for foolishness. It was decent steady revenue. Nobody likes to see that go away. But, when the bs started about how the truck was left, or somebody smoked in it or was 15min late for a switch, or nights weren’t working and on and on. Nope, wrong guy. It was a sideline thing, the team split the truck for 9 months. Was a holiday for them from the lobster and flowers team show they’ve been on for years. The last three months of that contract had me ready for therapy. Five guys in three months. In theory it makes perfect sense to cross-shift a truck. In practice it’s not my thing. I’d have to hire someone to deal with it, and there wasn’t enough money in it for that. It was a day cab, 12/12 not a two week split with a sleeper tractor.

Okay, I get what you're talking about. I would definitely want to have an understanding with the other driver as to how the truck is treated. I would fully expect the two drivers to know each other and keep in contact!
