Man, we (perhaps I), have so highjacked this thread.
So, lets get back to the original point...Landstar bad, Schneider good.

Landstar is too big for it's own good.
Couldn't agree more.
Landstar is bad. Go to Schneider.merv85, Geekonthestreet, 4mer trucker and 11 others Thank this. -
Poor bastage got another bad settlement probably. Tried to call his DM for psychological and emotional support, but there is no DM.
Go to Schneider. Son.

You know that's 2 trucks.
Nevertheless, that's strong.Badmon, 4mer trucker, Bumper and 6 others Thank this. -
Ok. That is photo shopped for right wing / BLM / Ketanji / pro Landstarve propaganda.
The reality is that you will live in your Cascadia 360 days a year, and be a boy.
Son.
bryan21384, 4mer trucker, Vic Firth and 4 others Thank this. -
Fuel purchase on 4/7 was for 70 gallons of fuel and 2 gallons of DEF in the most awesomest state.
4mer trucker, Vic Firth, JoeyJunk and 3 others Thank this. -
Now The OM is awake. We're driving at night, and one of the agents called, pretty much just to talk, and then we were woke.
Now we are woke again.BigHossVolvo, 4mer trucker, JoeyJunk and 2 others Thank this. -

Ok, point by point.
1) Name a company that you arent a truck number. Landstar has 10,000+ trucks. Do you REALLY not expect to be a number?
2) No clue what this means. I have minimal contact with the "mother ship" as I call it.
3) You get your truck inspected every 4 months, and send in a maint report. Is that such a hard thing to do? The inspection is free, as long as you pass it.
4) What? I dont haul ANY food products EVER. I think I have been to 4 food warehouses in 4 years.
5 & 6) Some of the less reliable brokers do this is true. I dont use those brokers. 90% of the loads I haul come from 2 sources.
7) What? If you are doing safety classes every 3 months it is because YOU are a road hazard. I had one once after I got a warning ticket a few years back... And as for getting pulled in, I have had my current truck for 2.5 years so far. I have NEVER (*knock wood*) had ANYONE look at my paperwork yet. Cop, DOT, whoever. Again, sounds like YOU have the problem pal...
8 & 9) So dont use the fuel card. Duh. Just get fuel from your normal card like the 99% of us that can figure that out...
10) 4? There is 1 for the portal, which is the same on the app as the desktop, and 1 for the comdata card. That is hard on you?
11) Right. You send your paperwork in a few different options (trip pak is also an option). Transflo is the easiest. They charge you what 1.50 for it I think? So?
12) Well it was only 110 when I joined but yes, that is stupid, I have never used mine, but a minor annoyance. So thats 1 point so far.
13) You think getting tested on safety is a bad thing while they figure out if they want you? Well we have already figured out that you dont appear to know what safety is so... And I have been using Landstars plates since day 1 without a problem. Last truck I bought (2020 Western Star) for 156k I spent less than $5 on sales tax on the truck because I had Landstar plates.
14) Yes, if for some reason you have to call the company, you WILL sit on hold for a long time. Not different than any other company really, but I will give you another point for that. So thats 2 so far.
15) Orientation is orientation. Never use that info again for the rest of your life. Its like going to high school. 80% of what you do there is meaningless, just like orientation at any other company. No points for you on that BECAUSE it IS like every other company.
16) Guess you have issues in using technology. Trailer assignment did take a week but after that no issues. And I have never had a trailer that I thought was anywhere near as bad as the trailers at any of the 2 dozen or so companies I have worked at over the last 38 years. And I do a MINIMUM of 4 drop and hooks a week, so I see a LOT of trailers...
17) Umm, hate to repeat myself, but What? I had some sort of 1 day class after about 120 days or so, but nothing since then.
18) The pay scale you posted is accurate. You knew it before you joined. Last year I made $162k AFTER Landstars cut and fuel. I work 3 days a week...
Seriously, thats all I work. Sun, Mon, Wed, and thats it. 162k. After ALL expenses I still made over 100k. For part time work. Could have made 300k easy if I wanted. And youre crying? LOLdown2marz, VolvoTerry, D.Tibbitt and 8 others Thank this.
