Unfortunately, you'll be trading one set of problems with another governmental oversight function, when stupid drivers should just be saying no to lease/op agreements with the company store....but that reference is outdated, or this generation would understand, you don't give your soul, to the company store. :)

It goes back to that entitlement theory...I deserve to be my own boss and have my own business no matter how stupid I am trying to do something I know nothing about to better the company rather than myself. DOH!

Hard work should get it, and that alone. Luck, well I don't do Starbucks so that narrows it down a bit.

i wish i could say those winter gloves held up but they didnt. just another trash glove that gets thrown away in 2-3 months. i dislike leather gloves because they have no dexterity, and the gloves that have dexterity dont last long... i was thinking of trying out some "petzl climbing gloves" supposedly they are made for roping and climbing... figure it might be good for flatbed since most of what we do is pulling or throwing or rolling straps, etc. similar abuse to what climbers use their gloves for ... but theres something inside of me that tells me id be so dumb to splurge $50+ for a pair of gloves, so i havent bought them yet.. so with all that said, i waste my money on the mechanix leather/fabric combo gloves.. throw them away in a month... :(

Yeah, it's the straps that are the worst. I need some gloves with steel fingertips.

thats how mine always get ripped. rips in the same dang spot everytime. fingertips and then the side of the palm. or if they get wet from chaining up or working in the rain. that shortens their life span from 1 month to like 2 hours. best to just keep them wet at that point :biggrin_25523:

These are the last pair I bought and used and they lasted quite a while and protected my hands pretty well, so these might be worth a look, but they aren't cheap either.

$37.84 at Home Depot, but they do have a tendency if you're not careful is that those rubber protections can be broke loose, other than that, they were pretty good lasting and durable considering what we do to them. I think when I bought them 4 years or so ago, they were about $17.00. Inflation. :)

Finished up my week with this crap. Now, mind you, I’ve been hauling my own drilling equipment for the last 25 years, and moonlighting as a lowbed hand, and running end dump, so I’m a greenhorn to the flat bed world, and a Californian, so flame away…this is a load that was supposed to be 44k max, and when the load count came up to 24 pallets, I was like “hmmm”. So, when I loaded up, I went to the scale house, and sure enough, I was 81,120 56756A69-2AC3-445B-A62F-E07B35E9D6D2.jpeg total. Now, I mounted a headache rack, threw on some extra chains, etc, so I was like holy shiat, I threw on a ton of junk! So, I used my truckers path app, and weaved my way through the scales, luckily they were closed, and let er rip. When I off loaded, I re weighed. Sure enough, the load that was 44k, was actually 46,700. I called the shipper, after the fact, and they were like” wow, your truck must weigh a lot”. I was like, yeah, it does, but I booked a load that weighs 44k. These are the lessons that can be painful.

You didn't take it back to them to pay you more or take the excess off? Yeah, painful and expensive if you got caught, and falsifying a BOL is a crime, too, I imagine.
