Since Your really wanting a cabover and I know you want a flat floor with a raised roof .. which is rare from what's been posted
I have no idea what your budget is
But I would settle for 2nd best
I would check out that 1989 KW k100 and use the funds that you are planning to use to fab up what your wanting
And spend it on freshing up what ever needs to be done to make it reliable ... and live with what it is...the thing there is you will always have a broader resale market if things change and you decide you want to travel a different path I think you will end up with less invested when your done
My experience with building something that is built specifically for your vision its a 1 of a kind deal and your relying on a custom fabricated deal that has not been proven or engineered on a drawing board .. and those things seem to be a home for gremlins that are hybrid gremlins that you can't just go to a parts store or dealer and get it resolved.. in fact most guys will look at it and say good luck I'am not going to touch it because I have no idea what Iam getting into..
Me .. I would go the @blairandgretchen route.. I would find a curb sniffer like a T600 or a 579 and get the big sleeper and call it good.. you still have room for your wife and dogs and there's some for sale all the time..
This is all just my opinion I wish you the best in what ever path you choose
1 last thing everytime I've had a custom part or anything built that's custom.. the person or company building it is looking at you with dollar signs in their eyes... thats why their in the business their in your going to pay out the a.. for their workmanshipLast edited by a moderator: Apr 11, 2022

The floor isn’t flat , but it’s only got half the dog house they usually have
I’ve owned two of them
Mine was the 9700 , Looks the same on the outside but has the doghouse
I liked it . Was comfortable and turned on a dime . I sprayed the doghouse vinyl with armor all regularly and that made it easy to just slide across to the bunk .
Could just get one that’s three times as long like this
