Not new to trucking or grain hauling, but I have skin issues and have always had issues keeping the dust out of the cab.

I've tried overalls, hoods. Still lets dust get into my shirt and sweaters are kind of useless. Other than a full Hazmat suit, I'm not sure where to go from here.

    Anyone have any tips?

    Thanks!

Have the shipper receiver load and unload it , stay in the truck and watch the lights , the railroad wont touch anything , so why do drivers get the shaft Again!

Haha I actually do that as much as I can. With Covid a lot of facilities wouldn't even let you out. But farmers don't tend to care, they won't watch your gauges and even if they did I wouldn't trust them to not overload me. "It's just 2 ton, you're fine, think kf the extra money!"

I don't know of one. The dust doesn't just come in on your clothes, it comes in through every little crack and crevice it can. It's hard to keep the dust problem under control pulling a hopper.

You can’t keep the dust out. I hauled sand in Super-B grain trailers and it was the worst. I think you’d have to start taping up all the vents and cracks all over the truck. I’d never do sand again. Maybe.

Funny how that's supposedly ok to breathe but it eats any metal that isn't stainless.

Exactly! I used to pick up fertilizer in Boonville MO and take it to Stuart IA. I forget now the name or the acronym for that stuff. DAT or MAT or ZAT or something I dunno but that stuff was brutal. You’d open your tarp to unload and it’d just take your breath away. We’d end dump it out of the coal chute and I’d tie a handkerchief around my face the stuff stunk and burned your eyes. Everybody up there looked at me like I was some sort of pansy but I don’t care. Breathing that dust in isn’t gonna add inches to my #### so it’s not worth the gamble.
