Most interesting load- nuclear weapons. But just on base, they have regular guys do the OTR thing. OTR was a 16 foot high 12 foot wide D8-L customized to run remote control to pick up metal on old bombing ranges. It needed 440dc generator on the back to run the magnet that was mounted to the blade. I saw it suck a 1/2 chain right from underground and fly 4 feet in air before it hit the magnet. Powerful stuff.

Well You all have me beat of the interesting side.
I worked for WMI back in the end of the 80's. We had dropped flatbeds in West Hollywood for the local crews to load up the Andy Gump's after they were pumped out and cleaned. It was Friday afternoon and they were not cleaned , but the crew loaded them anyway. I think the event was a parade(2 or 3 day party) so they were full to the top.
I went down and backed under the A trailer, secured the portopots and took off for Sun Valley CA about 35 miles away. Took the 405 north to the 118 west half way around the ramp a gardener in a Ford pickup ran into the drawbar damaging the pintle hitch, this allowed the b trailer to unlatch itself from the front trailer, which of course caused the brakes to lockup dumping the dirty portapotty's all over the freeway. (Looked like a scene from Chip's).
CHP showed up it smelled so bad they told us to go to our yard where they meet us for the report. Bad day to be a Caltrans worker. The gardener got the ticket and the bill for cleanup and replacement. Never even showed on my printout. -

This didn't happen to me but my friend was a driver for waste management he drove one of those front end loader trash trucks he said he did his normal rounds in the Morning like normal went to the land fill backed into his spot were he was to drop his load started to drop when all of the sudden a landfill employee ran to his cab stop stop. Without explanation the guy ran back to the back of the truck, my bud followed as he got to the back of the truck he looked and saw a body laying on the ground in the trash he had dropped and a head and arm of a body still in the trash in the truck. he said it was apperint the person hanging out of the truck was shot in the head due to half of the head missing. Turns out there was a 3rd body all shot all striped He and his truck sat for 14 hours while the ran though the trash .
