Let me shed a little light. 1st. While not called a tip, you get extra money most days I would guess. Fuel discounts, points that are good for free showers, meals, beverages, and truck equipment. So yes, you get a "tip".
I consider those blessings and am very free to play them forward. That guy that asks how much a shower costs, I cover it. Needed coffee? I gotcha, have a good day. Hungry? Let's get you something to eat.
The tighter you hold onto your money, the less blessings that can come your way. I /We were they same way when money was very tight. After some sole searching we realized that how little money we had, we always had enough to help someone in need. Then we discovered the more we gave, the more we received to give.
Don't let the glass in your pockets cut you off from other blessings. That couple of bucks you leave with your meal, may be the gallon of milk needed to feed the kids breakfast in the morning at the waitresses home.
Pay it forward and it will be returned many times over.
