My brother in law was asking. Lots of good estate auctions down his way and we have missed some really good deals. Thanks for the input. I’ll tell him to pass.

318s, 330s , 317s and 400 series are really all that brings top buck .
One and 2 hundred series dam near worthless.
Even old 3 and 400 series are going to need work unless fully restored and command top dollar.
If you arnt a collector you are better off to order a new one.
    It's a rich man's hobby .

LOL. He is a rich man. Just has other hobbies that take up his time. And a new baby girl. I sent him some used ones that are down the road from me. He said they were too high. Told him to just buy an old craftsman if he’s going to be that picky.

You can buy a new loaded up x330 for 5 grand with a 4 year year 300 hour bumper to bumper warranty.
Why spend 4 grand on a old 3 or 400 series with no warranty that is hard to get parts for ?
Went thru my x330 today to grease it and drain the break in oil .
Super easy and all the zerks including the deck bearings easy to get to .
    Not so on older models.

Jd got rid of the sealed deck bearings and replaced them with super easy to get to greaseable bearings .
The front wheels have been replaced with sealed bearings ..much less mess and who needs wheel bearings that need grease in this day and age on a machine that goes 7 mph max .

Do you have to leave it plugged in all the time?

Or you can you set it and unplug it?

On my 2019 F-150 the start/stop mode can easily be disabled by unplugging a connection under the drivers side dash. It makes the computer think you are pulling a trailer, which makes the computer over ride the start/stop. Be sure to plug it in if you do pull a trailer. My understanding it also disables trailer lights. Search You Tube. Easy to find, simple to do.

No you can plug it in or out , there is nothing to set just plug it .
They do recommend unplugging it if the vehicle will not be started for a long period of time .
